Michael has successfully represented physicians, physician-practice groups, hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, and ancillary health care providers on issues related to physician partner and shareholder disputes, physician non-competition, non-disclosure, and/or non-solicitation agreements, Stark and anti-kickback issues, and representing physicians before the Texas Medical Board.
Michael Alfred has experience in a wide variety of civil litigation matters in federal and state courts, both at the trial and appellate levels, and in arbitrations. Although having a broad litigation background, Michael’s practice is focused on business and commercial litigation, including matters involving breach of contract, partnership and shareholder disputes, non-competition and non-solicitation agreements, trade secrets, copyright and trademark infringement, breach of fiduciary duties, and requests for injunctive relief.
Michael has extensive experience handling complex construction and real estate litigation on issues related to residential and commercial construction contracts, mechanic’s liens, surety bonds, property disputes, and condemnation proceedings. Michael further has over a decade’s worth of experience representing homeowners’ associations, condominium associations, and individual owners with respect to the interpretation, drafting, and/or enforcement of restrictive covenants, declarations, and/or bylaws.
Additionally, Michael represents national insurance and annuity companies involving structured settlement beneficiary disputes, and the attempted transfer of structured settlement payment rights.
